A Better Way to Manage Your Window or Door Project
Consumer First Contracting is a family-owned window and door installation company serving homeowners throughout Northern Virginia. With decades of industry experience, the team focuses on helping homeowners get quality products, accurate measurements, and professional installation without unnecessary layers of cost.
C1C makes its money on installation labor, not by marking up the windows or doors themselves. From the first appointment through final installation, the team coordinates the details, keeps product and labor pricing separate, and helps make the entire project easier to understand and manage.
What to Expect
Know What to Expect From Start to Finish
Replacing windows or doors should not feel confusing. Our process is designed to give you clear information about your options, your costs, and what happens next before the project moves forward.

Step 1: Schedule an Appointment
Start With Your Home and
Your Project
Tell us what you are looking to replace and schedule a time for our team to visit your home. We will talk through your goals, answer initial questions, and get a better understanding of the project.
During your appointment, we'll discuss:
- The windows or doors you want to replace
- Any issues with your existing products
- Product preferences or priorities
- What to expect during the next steps
Step 2: Measure & Scope
We Measure More Than the Opening
Accurate measurements are critical to a successful installation. We measure each opening and evaluate the existing conditions so we can determine what the project will require before pricing is finalized.
We look at:
- Window or door dimensions
- Existing frames and openings
- Installation requirements
- Product specifications
- Any conditions that could affect the work

Step 3: Review Your Estimates
See the Product Cost and Installation Cost Separately
This is where the C1C approach is different. Instead of combining everything into one marked-up price, you receive separate estimates so you can see what you are actually paying for.
Your project includes two costs:
- C1C Installation Estimate
Consumer First Contracting provides a separate price for the professional installation work.
You can see where your money is going before you move forward. - Distributor Estimate
The price of your windows or doors is provided through the distributor explained in step 4.
Step 4: Connect with the distributor
Direct distributor access, with C1C in your corner.
Once your project measurements and scope are complete, Consumer First Contracting connects you directly with the distributor. The distributor works with you on product pricing, confirms your selections and specifications, and handles the material order.
C1C stays in your corner throughout the process. If questions come up or you need help understanding the options, our team is available to provide guidance and help keep the project moving.
Distributor Will Verify
- Measurements
- Window or door configurations
- Product selections
- Quantities
- Order details

Step 5: Product Delivery
Your Windows or Doors Are Made for Your Project
Once the order is confirmed, the manufacturer begins preparing your products. Manufacturing and delivery typically take 2-3 weeks, depending on the products, manufacturer, and availability.
We stay coordinated with the distributor so installation can be scheduled once everything is ready.
Step 6: Installation
Experienced Installers Finish
the Job
Once your products are ready, we schedule the installation. Our team removes the existing windows or doors, installs the new products, and checks their fit and operation before completing the project.
Our installers have years of hands-on window and door experience, allowing them to work efficiently without rushing the details that matter.

Know Where Your Money Goes
With many window and door companies, product costs and installation costs are packaged together into one price. C1C separates them.
Your Products
You receive product pricing through the distributor rather than paying an additional C1C markup on the windows or doors.
Our Installation
You pay Consumer First Contracting for the work we provide: measuring, coordinating, verifying, and professionally installing your windows or doors.
Why the C1C Model Works
When the costs are separated, you can better understand what you are buying and what you are paying your contractor to do.
See how your options compare
Not every window and door company prices a project the same way.
Understanding how the business model works can help you make a more informed comparison.

We had a great experience with this company. They were timely from the beginning of the project to the end, and they did a great job installing two interior doors in our home. And they were efficient too! The project maybe only took two hours or so. I would highly recommend calling them if you need any door installations!

Jamie from Consumer First Contracting came out and fixed our storm door install- he told us exactly what the problem was, fixed it quickly and explained what he did in simple and clear terms. He also went the extra mile- he noticed our entry door was sagging a bit and fixed that too. Personable, trustworthy, a careful listener and skilled- I am grateful for his expert help.
